Amazing Grace
Our Tuesday tune for this week is the beautiful hymn “Amazing Grace”. Written in 1772, this song expresses John Newton’s gratitude to God for saving his life from a severe illness. Newton had been a slave trader in England and following his healing, converted and became a preacher. Margaret, a rising 8th grader, presents a traditional version of this hymn. |

“This week’s song is written by Michael Joncas, composer of the beloved hymn. “On Eagle’s Wings”. He was inspired by the current pandemic to write this musical setting of Psalm 23, and has given permission for parishes to share the song during this time .
