2020-2021 Parish Budget Summary
The Church finished the fiscal year ending June 30,2021 with net operating loss of $5,839. Offertory/cash donations were $102,000 below budget but were mostly offset by reductions in expenditures. The school also incurred an operating loss of $57,841. Fortunately, both the parish and school received PPP loans which allowed us to offset these operating losses, maintain staff and cover the additional pandemic related costs.
Many families have moved to online giving which has helped considerably. Please consider this stewardship option, if you haven’t already.
During fiscal 2021, Parish debt was reduced by $1,076,312.  Total outstanding debt at the end of the fiscal year totals $1,012,625.  Based on the timing and completion of the remaining pledge commitments, we anticipate being debt free by the fall of 2023.
Thank you for your continued stewardship.

Father Pete's Updated Covid Guidelines (May, 2021)
The general obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation in the Diocese of Charlotte have been reinstated effective Sunday, May 23, 2021.
However, there are some exemptions.
  • People who are ill or vulnerable to infection are still encouraged to stay at home and attend Mass virtually, on TV or online.
  • You are ill or your health would be significantly compromised if you were to contract a communicable illness (i.e., you have underlying conditions or are in a high-risk category).
  • You exhibit flu-like symptoms.
  • You have good reason to think you might be asymptomatic of a contagious illness (such as being in recent contact with someone who tested positive for a contagious illness such as COVID-19 or influenza).
  • You care for the sick, homebound or infirm.
  • You are pregnant or caring for small children.
  • You are 65 years of age or older (per the CDC’s recommendation of high-risk individuals).
  • You cannot attend Mass through no fault of your own (such as no Mass is offered, you are infirm, or you are prevented for some reason you cannot control).

If you are unable to attend Mass, the 5:30 PM Saturday evening Mass, the 9:30 AM Sunday morning and 2:00 PM Sunday Spanish Masses will be livestreamed and posted on our website and YouTube channel for your viewing.

If you would like to attend IHM Church:
  1. We encourage anyone who is in a high-risk group or has not yet been fully vaccinated to continue to wear a mask while inside the Church and to follow social distancing norms.
  2. The two center sections of pews in the Church are now open and no longer set up for social distancing. These pews are available to all those individuals who are fully vaccinated.
  3. The three outer sections of pews will remain set up following social distancing guidelines. These pews are available to those vaccinated or higher-risk individuals who still feel more comfortable social distancing, as well as for those not yet vaccinated. Please refer to the signs inside the Church before selecting your seat in these sections.
  4. There will be music provided but there will be no singing since it aspirates air from your respiratory tract and has been shown to travel more than 6-8 feet.
  5. The body of Christ will be distributed after Mass and a social distancing friendly traffic pattern will be explained at each Mass prior to distribution of the Sacrament.

We would like to thank EVERYONE for their support during this pandemic. We know it has not been easy! But because of you, we have been able to gather safely, once again, as a community of faith. As we move forward with the lessening of restrictions, please stay vigilant, while caring for yourself and the health of others.
